Read­ers will know we have a soft spot for the designs of Albert Strange and those who work to pre­serve them. One such was Wood­bridge-based boat­build­er John Krejsa, who in 2006 took on the vir­tu­al wreck of Mist (built 1907) and per­formed a mag­ni­fi­cent rebuild. Mist was re-launched in late 2016 but had her first major out­ing only last Septem­ber, with six other Strange boats in their annu­al Meet on the river Deben. John was not well enough to sail her him­self but he was able to see her sail­ing in all her glory from the shore; sadly he died a few weeks later.
